Your Tipmont board: Pursuing progressive futures

Brent Bible with farm equipment in the backgroundAccording to the Indiana State Department of Agriculture, the industry generates $35.1 billion annually for the Hoosier State. But agriculture is more than a line in a ledger. It reflects ethics, values, and innovations integral to a Hoosier way of life.

Tipmont proudly serves area farmers whose tireless work is vital to our everyday activities. While I’m privileged to serve Tipmont’s fourth district and chair its board of directors, it’s also an honor to manage my own family farm.

When enhancing infrastructure, Tipmont collaborates with local farmers to ensure our upgrades encompass farm safety. As harvesting season nears, please join us in promoting safety. Whether operating equipment or approaching it on a roadway, please be aware of your surroundings, patient with the machinery’s pace, and cautious about making choices that help ensure everyone’s well-being.

Now is a busy time for farmers and for Tipmont.

Our fiber build is entering its final stages — years ahead of schedule and performing ahead of connection and revenue projections. As the saying goes, sometimes it’s better to be lucky than good. Tipmont fiber has benefited from both.

Your Tipmont board governs through information, collaboration, and decisiveness to think big for your benefit. We always weigh what to do, when to do it, and the pros and cons of going all in. Choosing to ensure sufficient broadband access for all Tipmont members meant we started this project amid competitive costs, lower interest rates, and abundant grant opportunities. But good timing is nothing without great people. Tipmont’s team embraced your board’s vision and saw it through with laser focus. With such dedication, the project couldn’t help but be successful.

Tipmont’s fiber network is also a technological backbone to support coming changes in how we will generate, deliver, and consume energy. One major project in this space is rolling out new meters to all members by the end of 2026, improving outage management and empowering you to save on energy and costs. We also hope to share favorable news soon about our effort to pursue a fair, flexible power supply. To learn more, visit fightingforyou.tipmont.com.

Your feedback shows we’re doing what you expect. Tipmont maintained a record-high score of 87 on the American Consumer Satisfaction Index, a standard performance metric. That’s 10% above other co-ops, 16% above investor-owned utilities and 28% above internet service providers.

This engagement is essential to Tipmont’s identity and governance. Thank you for interacting with us, and I promise that our board will continue pursuing progressive futures that better your life and community.
