Our Mission and Values
Tipmont’s mission statement defines its’ purpose and values. For an electric cooperative, it’s especially important because the cooperative exists to serve its members and communities, not shareholders.
A clear mission helps ensure every decision supports reliable service, long-term value, and the needs of the membership.
Why we exist
Our Mission
In recent years, we’ve seen rapid innovation across many industries, including energy. As alternatives to coal and natural gas evolve, battery technology improves, and regulations continue to change, the energy sector is entering a period of major transformation.
At Tipmont, our mission goes beyond delivering electric service. We believe in giving our members choices in the services they use every day. That’s why we launched Indiana’s first community solar array and built a state-of-the-art fiber-optic internet network.
Adopted in late 2014, our mission statement is:

As a not-for-profit cooperative, Tipmont answers only to the members and communities we serve. These five core values are an expectation for each Tipmont employee and aim to meet the high expectations of our members.
