My article last month centered on Indiana’s utility disconnect moratorium and Tipmont’s commitment to help those of you who are struggling with unemployment, reduced hours, or furloughs from the COVID-19 pandemic. The moratorium expiration date was extended to Aug. 14 after the July Indiana Connection deadline and may be extended further if COVID-19 cases continue to increase.
Regardless, our commitment to you doesn’t change. We will not disconnect anyone with past due amounts on Aug. 14. What we are asking you to do is call our member service team and arrange a payment plan to catch up on your past due amount.
I’ve said that if you struggle, we all struggle. That belief also works in reverse; when you succeed, we all succeed. It’s why Tipmont is always on the lookout for opportunities to support the communities we serve.
We recently had the opportunity to help provide a live stream of North Montgomery High School’s graduation. Superintendent Colleen Moran sent us a really nice note this week:
“We cannot thank you enough for providing the Indiana Sports Network as a resource to stream the NMHS Commencement ceremony! That was a huge hit with our families and it made the day very special. It was definitely a memorable celebration!”
Other recent initiatives include our free public WiFi, now available at 12 locations throughout our electric service territory. Our Operation Round Up and EnviroWatts program continue to grant thousands of dollars to local charities.
Our mission to empower our communities goes beyond providing safe, affordable, and reliable essential services. It is a long-term commitment to the success of those communities and each member that we serve. It is our privilege to serve you.
