Back in 1978, REO Speedwagon couldn’t have foreseen specifics of life in 2022. They’re rock musicians, not social scientists. But in a way, the band was looking ahead with its hit song, “Roll with the Changes.”
For better or worse, disruptive change occurs all the time. This was true in 1978. It’s true today. When a change happens, we can fixate on the shift in routine … or seize the opportunity to pursue something new and hopefully better.
In that spirit of inspiration (and based on your feedback from last year), we’ve adjusted some aspects of the 2022 Annual Meeting — coming Saturday, Sept. 17.
We’ll still gather in-person at the Tippecanoe County Fairgrounds in Lafayette, but we’re also offering three drive-thru options so you can participate at your convenience. (We’ll also still give away five $1,000 prizes, with winners chosen from every location.)
In addition to drive-thru access at the fairgrounds, we’ll offer drive-thrus that morning at Tipmont facilities in both Linden and Battle Ground. One thing that has changed since 1978: There are exponentially greater demands on our time. Bringing elements of the Annual Meeting closer to you lets you capitalize on the cooperative difference of making your voice heard while leaving time for everything else of importance to you. Other changes to the in-person event (such as removing children’s activities) will make it easier to move around the fairgrounds. Most of all, you’ll get a higher bill credit simply for attending at any location — a $25 credit applied to the next Tipmont bill of each registered membership attending. Now that’s a change worth rolling with.
