Consider careers with Tipmont Wintek

Things look quite different now than when I arrived in 2013, but several things remain the same and always will. One is ensuring that what’s right for members most deeply defines all our ambitions and actions. Another is constantly seeking the right people to push us forward and doing our part to support and encourage success for future generations of energy-industry professionals.

That’s why our EnviroWatts program has donated $90,000 to Ivy Tech Community College’s Energy Technology program since 2010, supporting 27 scholarships. Among the 23 students who have already earned their degree, 75% have embarked on energy-industry careers in wind energy, solar energy or energy auditing. (We’re proud to partner with Ivy Tech, and I hope you’ll read about Ivy+, their latest college-wide initiative to provide affordable education.)

Department of Energy statistics show the energy sector was among America’s fastest-growing job markets from 2015 to 2019 — its 3% annual growth rate double that of the overall economy. While the pandemic affected all industries, the energy sector had one of 2020’s fastest bounce-backs. In the coming year, the Department of Energy anticipates an 8.1% rise in careers related to electric power generation and a 10.1% rise in careers related to energy-efficiency operations.

Those career paths, and many more, are possible at Tipmont Wintek for those who take pride in hard work, thrive on talented teams, and embrace values of innovation, public service heart, impact, respect and passion. From our engineers, fiber technicians and energy advisors to member service representatives and lineworkers, we solve problems and create solutions to serve our members. Every day is different, and even more exponential change is en route in areas of distributed and renewable energy resources.

If you’re interested, visit tipmont.org/careers. You’ll find a list of currently open positions as well as a general application to complete if there’s no open role that fits your profile. After all, you could be the right fit for what we need tomorrow.

Over the last eight years, we have more than doubled our team. Much of that came from our 2019 acquisition of Wintek and encompasses the talented folks bringing better internet to our communities and businesses. But we continue to grow in all areas with the right roles at the right pace. That’s the Tipmont Wintek rhythm — daunting, exciting and perhaps something that could be right for you.
