Tipmont Linemen Triumph Again, Winning Top Honors at Indiana Lineman Rodeo

Congratulations to all the Tipmont linemen who participated at this year’s Indiana Electric Cooperatives Lineman Rodeo — held on Thursday, Aug. 21 and Friday, Aug. 22, at the Hendricks County Fairgrounds in Danville, Ind.

In the team competition, Tipmont dominated the Hurt Man event, as our Linden crew earned first place and our Battle Ground crew nabbed second place. Meanwhile, the Linden crew finished in fifth place overall among competing teams.

Among individual events, Tristen Hoffman grabbed first place in the Hurt Man event and second on the Egg Climb event, Shafer Cox took first place in the Mutual Aid event, and Bo Bouwkamp brought home a third-place finish in the Hurt Man event and third place overall among all individual competitors.

Competing alongside Bo, Shafer and Tristen this year were Christian Guimond, Dusty Manns and Bobby Taylor, Jr. Tipmont was also represented this year by competition judges Cody Hovermale, Matt Lowe and Jason Phillips.

He lives in West Lafayette with his wife and three children and has a life-sized Yoda statue in his office. Away from the office, you’ll find Rob working on his golf swing, jump shot, or hope for a Purdue basketball national title – all futile endeavors.
