Call us if you need help with your Tipmont energy bill

On behalf of all of us at Tipmont, I hope 2026 is off to a good start for you.

As I write this, your Tipmont Board of Directors is finalizing the cooperative’s budget for 2026. Tipmont strives to run lean and manage costs without sacrificing either the security, comfort and convenience you expect or the safety of our employees who serve you. This requires a substantial annual effort from all departments, but that effort reflects the pride we take in fiscal responsibility. And as always: We’re pursuing every avenue to keep your rates as low as possible.

Within reason for each season, we can try to plan for weather extremes.  Unfortunately, we cannot control them. December brought several prolonged stretches of atypically cold temperatures. As it is during summer heatwaves, winter cold snaps generally equate to an increased usage of energy and a higher bill afterward.

Depending on your needs, Tipmont has some options to help you manage your electric bill.

If you’re looking for a more predictable monthly payment, Tipmont’s budget billing program may be right for you. Free to qualifying members, budget billing averages your last 12 months of payment amounts for Tipmont electric service. You can also choose from fixed budget billing or variable budget billing.

If you are struggling with your Tipmont bill at any time, the best thing you can do is call us at 800-726-3953 or email memberservice@tipmont.com so we can help.

If you have past due amounts, our member service team will work with you to arrange an extension.

If you have a larger account balance, we’ll do everything we can to give you more time to pay your past due amount.

Please also consider these area resources for financial assistance:

You can also reach out to local township trustees and churches for assistance programs they may offer and find additional information at Tipmont’s energy assistance page.
