You may be among thousands of Tipmont members eligible for a $30 monthly credit on high-speed internet!
If you are a family of four earning about $50,000 a year or are eligible for Medicaid or other select aid programs, you could enroll in the federal government’s Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP).
The White House announced the $14.2 billion ACP program as part of a $1 trillion infrastructure package passed by Congress last year. About 40% of Americans qualify for the ACP, which is aimed at connecting families during the pandemic and easing the internet gap for rural Americans. Eligible households can also receive a one-time $100 discount on participating computers or tablets.
Tipmont REMC is a preferred participating high-speed internet provider and can assist you with accessing the ACP’s monthly $30 discount on broadband service.
“Fast, reliable and affordable broadband is no longer a luxury. It’s a necessity for everyone everywhere,” says Ron Holcomb, president and CEO of Tipmont Wintek. “Providing reliable internet services and a broadband discount will keep families, students and professionals connected.”
You are eligible if your income is at or below 200% of the federal poverty level, or if your household uses one of the following:
- SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program)
- Medicaid
- Free or reduced lunch or school breakfast program
- Federal Public Housing Assistance
- SSI (Supplemental Security Income)
- WIC
- Veterans Pension or Survivor Benefits
- Pell Grant
