Rates

Tipmont is a not-for-profit cooperative and we strive every day to manage costs while continuing to provide the reliability and value you deserve.

Tipmont is under contract to purchase the power we deliver to you from Wabash Valley Power Alliance. In March 2024, Wabash Valley Power Alliance increased power supply costs for all 23 of its member cooperatives. Tipmont had no choice but to increase energy rates to cover the increased cost.

Below are the rate changes for each rate class. The majority of Tipmont’s members are Rate 1 / Single Phase. If you’re not sure of your account’s rate class, it is listed on the back side of your bill.

Kilowatt Hour (kWh) Charges represent the amount of electricity used during the billing period, calculated by multiplying your total kWh usage by the applicable energy rate in the Tipmont Rate Tariff. A kWh is a measurement of energy used over time and the basis for how electric bills are calculated. For the purposes of this example, we are using a bill with 1,200 kWh.

Power Cost Adjustment
Power Cost Adjustment is an adjustment made to your electric bill to reflect fluctuations in the true cost of power purchased from Tipmont's provider, Wabash Valley Power.
