Outage restoration updates
UPDATED: 06/12/2026

Severe weather has caused significant damage to our system.

10 a.m. update: 37 outages affecting 196 members. All crews are working across our service territory and have restored more than 4,500 members with power. They will continue to work until service is restored to all members.

Crews are currently working on outages affecting fewer than 50 members. Progress will be slower, as the same amount of work required to restore larger outages will now only restore a few members at a time. Please continue to call 800-726-3953 or log into SmartHub (tipmont.smarthub.coop) to report outages.

Crews are working near:
  • Tippecanoe County: N. 775 E., Bridgeway Drive (broken pole), East Meadowbrook Drive
  • Montgomery County: New Richmond
  • Fountain County: W. 100 N.
Thirteen broken poles remain on our system and must be changed out.
Tree crews are present in Battle Ground to remove trees from lines, and the next available tree crew will head to Hillsboro to remove trees from lines there.
We are receiving assistance from crews from Hoosier Edison and Henry County REMC
As a safety reminder, assume any downed line is energized and stay far away. Call 911 to report downed power lines.

SmartHub briefly unavailable at 4:30 p.m.

UPDATED: 02/10/2025

SmartHub will be briefly unavailable due to maintenance at 4:30 p.m. Monday, Feb. 10. We anticipate the service will be available again after several minutes.

COOPERATIVE GOVERNANCE

How to Vote for Directors

Any Tipmont member in good standing is eligible to cast a vote at each year’s Annual Meeting in all applicable elections for Tipmont’s Board of Directors.

Candidate biographies are provided each year on the Annual Meeting webpage, on Tipmont’s YouTube page, and in Tipmont’s Indiana Connection magazine.

Drive-thru and in-person voting

Per Tipmont’s Bylaws, votes must be cast in person, either at the in-person business meeting portion of the Annual Meeting or at supplemental drive-thru locations across Tipmont’s service territory on the same day.

To cast a vote, a Tipmont member must bring:

  • The applicable year’s Annual Meeting postcard mailed to members by Tipmont, with the account holder’s signature included
  • Valid proof of identification to confirm identity (A driver’s license, state ID or passport qualifies as valid proof of identification)

Members who meet these qualifications will receive an individually numbered ballot from which to choose their preferred candidate(s) for election.

Members who receive a ballot at a drive-thru location will complete the ballot in their vehicle and submit it for collection before exiting the drive-thru. Drive-thrus open at 7:30 a.m. and close at 10 a.m., when the in-person business meeting begins.

In-person ballots will be distributed during the in-person business meeting and follow previous precedent for collection and counting. The in-person business meeting  begins at approximately 10:30 a.m.

Vote tabulation and results

Each completed ballot is then submitted for counting to Tipmont’s Credentials and Election (C&E) Committee. Per Section 3.14 of Tipmont Bylaws, this committee consists of “an uneven number of unsuspended Members between three (3) and nine (9).” The C&E Committee is responsible for counting and certifying the election results, under the supervision of Tipmont legal counsel.

Only one vote may be cast per account and only by the individual whose name is listed on the account. Members may not appoint another individual to vote on their behalf as a proxy. (To update account information, visit Tipmont’s SmartHub portal or call 800-726-3953.)
