Improving all the places we call home

Tipmont community projects support where we live, work and play

Members of the Tipmont team gathered to help clean up Wildcat Creek in 2024.

For more than 85 years, Tipmont has provided security, comfort and convenience for the communities we serve — and not only in the form of reliable electricity and fiber internet you deserve.

Tipmont’s inspiration to lead and serve extends well beyond the essential services we provide. That’s why Tipmont is proud to support the places we live, work, learn and play through financial sponsorships, educational workshops, service projects and donation programs.

Many of our community initiatives begin with ideas from our greatest strength — our people. Their instincts for improving our Community Day projects to rehabilitate recreational baseball fields, clean up the Wildcat Creek from debris and litter, and assist with local home builds for Habitat for Humanity. We’re grateful for these opportunities to gather, grow and promote positive change within our communities.

Tipmont is also proud to provide financial sponsorship for student support systems, economic development initiatives, youth sports and the Lafayette Aviators — as well as event WiFi connectivity for gaming, graduation and high school events to help your family share every exciting moment.

For many years, Tipmont has sponsored life-changing opportunities for young people, including the Indiana Youth Tour (where high school students see government in action first-hand) and Camp Kilowatt, in which junior high school students combine traditional summer-camp fun with education in the utilities we offer.

Tipmont also helps young people to envision possible careers in our field. This includes programs for Girl Scout troops, as well as presentations at the Next Generation Workforce Expo and the Construction Career & Education (C2E) Expo, where young people can learn how broadband and energy intersect with manufacturing, cybersecurity and construction.

Members like you have become essential partners in this part of our mission, too, thanks to your participation in member-donation programs.

In Operation Round Up, members voluntarily round up their monthly bill to the nearest dollar, with the difference going toward community and service organizations. Since 1999, you’ve helped donate more than $1.2 million in our service territory.

Meanwhile, EnviroWatts benefits environmental improvement projects through a voluntary one-cent-per-kilowatt-hour increase to your bill. Since 2003, that program has donated more than $800,000.

These are just a few of the ways Tipmont works to make a difference. Our philosophy for community engagement is simple: The places you call home are also the places we call home. If we can help make an improvement happen, it benefits all of us.
