Free Roku Premiere for customers in our first build area!

If you’re in our first build area, sign up for service by June 30 and receive a free Roku Premiere!

What is a Roku Premiere?
Roku Premiere is a small device that fits in the palm of your hand and plugs into the back of your existing television. It comes with a basic remote control and allows you to watch both paid and free high definition television and movies over the internet.
What kind of content is available?
Popular streaming servicesMany of the apps require a subscription to watch video content, but some offer free programming. The most popular video apps are Netflix, DirecTV Now, Hulu, Sling, and YouTube TV. Each of these apps require a subscription to watch moves or live television channels. Nearly all streaming services have a free trial period for you to try the product out in your home.

However, there are also several free apps, including The Roku Channel, which offers a selection of movies, TV shows, live news and sports.

How does The Roku Premiere work?
The Roku Premiere connects to your wireless internet signal to deliver video content over your fiber internet connection. When you switch to the Roku device, it works similar to a smartphone or tablet, offering a suite of video apps, essentially turning your existing TV into a smart TV. Watch this video for a demonstration.
Will Roku Premiere work with my TV?
As long as your TV has an HDMI input, Roku Premiere will work with your TV. HDMI has existed as a video input since 2002 and exists today as the standard digital input for televisions. If your television is less than 15 years old, it should have an HDMI input allowing it to work with the Roku Premiere.
Why would I want to watch TV over the internet?
This is where streaming services differentiate themselves from traditional linear video services. Since all the live television is delivered over the internet, streaming providers have the advantage of not having to provide end-user equipment. As a result, most services are about $45 compared with about $90 for the average cable TV package. Also, streaming pricing typically doesn’t offer introductory rates or contracts meaning you can opt out any time. Nearly all streaming services have a free trial period for you to try the product out in your home.
Is Tipmont fiber internet fast enough to watch TV and movies?
Yes! High definition (HD) video typically requires between 4 and 6 Mb/s. Ultra high definition (UHD or 4K) streams, while not yet widely available, require anywhere from 15 Mb/s to 60 Mb/s for a smooth streaming experience. By comparison, our lowest internet package offers 250 Mb/s download speeds, more than enough to stream live television with plenty left over for other activities.
Can I get help installing it?
If you order service by June 30, one of our professional installers will help get the Roku up and running at the time your internet service is being installed.
