Pole testing to start near Manson, Wea substations

A map of Wea and Manson substation territories where pole testing will take place in Spring 2025

This spring and summer, Tipmont will test 3,000 poles near the Manson and Wea substations.

In the areas indicated on the accompanying map, this five-week project will begin in early April or early May and end no later than early July.

Pole testing requires driving trucks, ATVs and other vehicles around Tipmont’s rights-of-way to inspect poles. To learn more about rights-of-way, please visit tipmont.com/row.

Tipmont members in these areas may see personnel and/or vehicles from Tipmont — or its contracted partner, Utility Asset Management — on their property.

Tipmont tests poles every 10 to 15 years to ensure their wood is in good condition and help maintain our high standards for reliability. Any deficient poles will be repaired or replaced as required.

If you have questions about this work, please call Project Engineer Keith Axtell at 765-269-4845.
