In 2014, Tipmont’s board of directors revised our co-op’s mission statement to best reflect our purpose: “Empowering communities by providing state-of-the-art essential services.” In basic terms, that means electricity and fiber internet. But our definition dares to go deeper.
For Tipmont’s board and the 100-plus people who make their living here, that mission statement reflects our passion to provide you with essential services that meet basic, invaluable human needs — security, comfort and convenience. They’re worth fighting for. That’s why Tipmont is fighting for you.
Reliable internet access isn’t a luxury. Benefiting from opportunities in education, economic development, engagement and entertainment demands fast, stable broadband. We’re bringing that access to all of you. You also deserve the opportunity to enjoy a more fair and flexible energy future. Rural Indiana should not take a back seat in either pursuit.
Any worthwhile effort involves tough questions and bold decisions. More information is available here on how Tipmont is fighting for your essential services and fighting for you.
Visit us at the County Fairs this month
Tipmont proudly supports county fairs in the areas we serve, from sponsorships to staff volunteers who help judge Indiana 4-H electricity projects. But we typically haven’t had an official presence at them because we’ve been preparing for our Annual Meeting at the same time.
This year, I’m excited to inform you that you’ll find Tipmont at the Fountain, Montgomery and Tippecanoe county fairs. Grab a cold lemon shake-up and drop by.
Annual Meeting set for Sat. Sept. 18
One summer hallmark has been reconnecting with familiar faces. All of us at Tipmont are certainly thrilled to do so with our members at the 2021 Tipmont REMC Annual Meeting, scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 18, at the newly remodeled Tippecanoe County Fairgrounds.
The meeting’s primary purpose is to elect board members that govern our cooperative, which we’ll be doing this year for Districts 2, 5 and 7. But this year, we especially look forward to seeing our members in person again, celebrating the camaraderie that sets our cooperative apart, and sharing details with you on our next evolution. Look for more information on the meeting in the weeks ahead.
