10 things you can do with the CommandIQ® app

Available from Apple’s App Store and Android’s Google Play, the free CommandIQ® app puts you in control of your Tipmont fiber service.

Here are 10 ways CommandIQ® can help you!

10 THINGS YOU CAN DO WITH THE COMMANDIQ® APP

  • Run a speed test (including mesh units): The test measures the performance of your network, including any mesh units you may have. Simply tap the Speed Test icon on the main screen.
  • Easily share your Wi-Fi: This is an easy way to allow a trusted device to access your internet connection without creating a separate guest network. Simply tap the Share Wi-Fi button on the home screen.
  • Create a Guest Network: If you’re having several guests over, a Guest Network will allow them to safely connect apart from your main network. To add Guest Wi-Fi, tap Network on the bottom menu, and then Add Network at the top right. To find more detailed information about your router’s hidden talent, check out this Tipmont article.
  • See your Wi-Fi password: Forgot your Wi-Fi password? Tap Network at the bottom, then tap your Wi-Fi network, then Edit Network at the bottom of the screen with the QR code. Tap the eye icon to reveal your Wi-Fi password.
  • Change your Wi-Fi password: On the same screen as the tip above, you can change the Wi-Fi password as well. Make sure you choose a strong one!
  • Reboot your router: Rebooting your home internet router can help maintain optimal performance and resolve common connectivity issues. Tipmont recommends doing this about once a month. The last of the buttons on the main screen is Reboot System.
  • Adjust your router’s LED brightness: On the main screen, tap Network. Then, under Network Systems, tap your main gateway. LED settings are on the following screen. You can also rename your router here.
  • See your Home Network layout: This gives you a simple map of your home network layout, showing which devices are connected via router or mesh unit, which are using Wi-Fi vs. wired, and so forth. Tap the Home Network button on the main screen to get started.
  • Get notified if a new device joins your network: Tap the Gear icon at the upper left and then Application Notifications. Enable “New device joined network” to get a push notification. There are many other options to customize as well.
  • Pause device access: Did your child forget to do their chores? Tap Devices in the bottom menu, tap the device you want to pause, and then tap the hamburger menu (three horizontal lines) at the upper right. Choose “Pause Internet for Device” and watch how quickly those chores get done!
