Powered by the generosity of members like you, Tipmont grant programs continue to improve life in the communities we call home.
In October 2024, Tipmont distributed more than $20,000 in grants from its Operation Round Up and EnviroWatts programs. These grants funded physical fitness initiatives, repairs at social safety net facilities, necessary resources for babies, and more in the communities we serve.
Operation Round Up
A little change goes a long way when you round up your monthly Tipmont electric bill to the nearest dollar. Your tax-deductible average annual contribution of $6 benefits such area nonprofit efforts as:
- Vision screening equipment and staff training for the Head Start program at the Community Action Program in Covington, where the early detection of children’s vision problems can support their overall development and educational success
- Weight and fitness training-room floormats at Frankfort’s CORE Community Center, which has seen a 50% increase in traffic and helps promote ongoing physical activity and wellness
- Support for digital signage at Fountain County Old Guard VFW #2395, the only Veterans of Foreign Wars post in a three-county area, to improve awareness of events and services
- Field equipment required to run softball camps at the Indiana Elite Academy, which helps offer physical activity and develop team skills for greater Lafayette youth
- A laptop and docking station to enhance the work of housing stability coordinators at Lafayette Transitional Housing, which connects unhoused people to sustainable solutions
- Flooring improvements in a building that houses both youth programs and 10 overflow shelter beds for Lafayette Urban Ministry, a social safety net for children and families experiencing difficult times
- Diapers, baby wipes and formula for families in need at the Women’s Resource Center of Montgomery County

EnviroWatts
Tipmont also supports local projects in sustainability, renewable energy, and environmental improvement through the EnviroWatts program. As a participant, you add just one cent per kilowatt-hour to your monthly Tipmont electric bill — with a $5 monthly maximum.
- Infield trees to plant as part of the Tree Lafayette initiative
