Brent Bible has attended more baseball games in the last five weeks than he has in the last five years. That’s because — along with his wife, Stacy — the Tipmont District 4 director and board chairman is hosting two Lafayette Aviators for the 2026 summer season.
“Hosting players is a great way to get to know interesting, high-caliber college students focused on their careers and their sport,” Brent says. “Stacy and I are there to support and encourage them. But it’s also uplifting for us to see young people go after their dreams and put in the work to make them successful.”
In summers past, the Bibles have hosted interns in their farming operation. With no interns requiring housing this summer, they chose to host two Aviators players. Their “temporary family members” for the season are infielders Blake Bowen and Isaac Incinelli. They will play for Ball State University and Clemson University, respectively, in the fall.
“Blake and Isaac are two wonderful young men, and we could not be happier in getting to know them,” Brent says.
“There’s nothing we can tell them about baseball that will be revelatory to them and they certainly have families to lean on for decisions. But sometimes an objective, outside perspective on life can be useful. It’s been great to offer that to them.”
As the Aviators squeeze 60 games into 70 days, that makes a lot of long days … and nights, after road trips. Despite a packed schedule, the Bibles have introduced Blake and Isaac to some iconic restaurants and taken trips to Purdue University’s campus and baseball field.
“People may not realize how hard these guys work,” Brent says. “They practice or play 12 hours a day, and it’s not easy. There’s a lot of pressure for them to perform, from their own internal drive and the nature of being competitive and wanting to do a good job. Sometimes that can weigh on you as much as anything, so we just encourage them to go after their goals and be successful.”
