Small Change, Big Difference

Powered by the generosity of members like you, Tipmont grant programs continue to improve life in the communities we call home.

In July, Tipmont distributed more than $14,000 in grants from its Operation Round Up and EnviroWatts programs. They funded initiatives to improve communication at a nearby wildlife sanctuary, promote a longstanding annual celebration of local diversity, and provide scholarships for the next generation of energy technology professionals.

Operation Round Up

A little change goes a long way when you round up your monthly Tipmont electric bill to the nearest dollar. Your tax-deductible average annual contribution of $6 benefits such area nonprofit efforts as:

Street banners to promote activities at the 27th annual Global Fest in West Lafayette — a celebration of local diversity and numerous cultures that inform and enhance our communities. ($1,000)

Radio systems for staff and volunteers at Wolf Park, a Battle Ground wildlife education, conservation, and research facility. The radios will ensure clear, reliable communication as staff and volunteers interact with wild animals at the 70-acre park, which welcomes 20,000 visitors a year. ($3,290.65)

EnviroWatts

Adding one cent per kilowatt-hour to your monthly Tipmont electric bill (with a $5 monthly maximum) supports local projects in sustainability, renewable energy, and environmental improvement, including:

Academic scholarships for Ivy Tech’s Energy Technology program dovetails with Indiana’s workforce readiness initiatives. Tipmont’s scholarship support for associate degrees, certificate programs, and lineman programs reduces student debt, improves Indiana’s energy workforce, and encourages interest and study in the field of renewable energy. ($10,000)
