2025 Youth Tour sends area students to Washington D.C.

Tipmont students on the 2025 Indiana Youth Tour visit the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier at Arlington National Cemetery.

During a week in June, 16 area high-school juniors joined the 61-student Indiana Youth Tour delegation to Washington, D.C.

Students visited numerous monuments and memorials, met with legislators on Capitol Hill, and interacted with thousands of students from other states.

Special congratulations go to Harrison High School student Meredith Anderson, who was chosen as Indiana’s Youth Leadership Council (YLC) delegate. In addition to a $1,000 scholarship, Montgomery will represent Indiana at the 2026 NRECA Annual Meeting in Nashville. She is Tipmont’s fourth consecutive YLC delegate, following Cora Wood in 2022, Abbey Allen in 2023 and Braden Montgomery in 2024.

“Youth Tour has changed the trajectory of my life,” Anderson said. “I was able to explore America’s great history and culture in a way I never expected. I am honored to be chosen as the Indiana YLC delegate, and I am so excited to learn and grow through this incredible opportunity.”

Applications for the 2026 Youth Tour will open in December. Watch Indiana Connection and the Tipmont Youth Tour website for more information.
