Electrical upgrade construction starts Sept. 29 at 420 N. 6th St.

The first phase of a construction project at Tipmont and Wintek Business Solutions offices at 427 N. 6th St. in Lafayette will begin on Monday, Sept. 29.

This construction project will be the first of several phrases for electrical upgrades to the building and will include underground digging and vacuuming.

Weather permitting, external construction will end in the final week of October. Remaining phases of work will largely be inside the building.

All parking spots at this location will remain open except for eight angled spots on the building’s east side, all facing an alley accessible off Brown Street.

No building entrances will be closed and all work will be performed between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday-Friday until work is completed.

Upon completion of the full project, the building will have enhanced electrical capacity and reliability.

External construction will also accommodate a new handicapped-accessible ramp and handrails.
