Our directors make a difference

As an electric cooperative, Tipmont is guided by a board of directors elected by our membership to represent their best interests when making important decisions. Being a member of this board is an incredibly important position in our community. The board’s decisions impact issues such as service rates, rights of way and work plans. This position holds significant responsibility and requires individuals who understand their community’s needs and serve the cooperative members’ best interest.

2016 Tipmont Board Districts up for electionAny Tipmont member (in good standing and whose name is on the account) is welcome to run for an open position on the board. Each director is elected to a three-year term. We hold elections every year at our Annual Meeting. This year’s meeting will be held Saturday, July 23 at Lafayette Jefferson High School. Districts one, three and seven are up for election this year.

Any candidate who applies is required to receive at least 25 signatures of current Tipmont members and submit their election application 85 days prior to the annual meeting. For 2016, this date is Friday, April 29.

Please encourage your fellow Tipmont members to run for positions on the board. Then, make sure you attend our Annual Meeting in July and vote for those individuals you think will act in the best interest of our co-op community.

Get involved and call (800) 726-3953 or visit tipmont.org to receive more information on how to run for our board of directors.
